Polk Privacy Notice

This notice explains what data Polk County Released Inmates receives, how it is used, and when another party may process it. Using this site means accepting the practices described below. The site links to public agencies and independent services, which apply their own privacy terms.

Information You Submit

Search terms

A name or location entered in a search box passes directly to the third-party provider operating that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages

Email and contact-form messages are retained as needed to answer the sender. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Automatic Technical Data

Ordinary web systems may record technical details when a page loads:

  • IP address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • Referring site, when available.
  • Access timestamps.

Cookies

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject them, although some features may work differently when cookies are blocked.

How Data Is Used

Collected data supports normal site operations. Uses may include:

  • Operating the site and maintaining its speed.
  • Routing a search request to the selected partner service.
  • Learning which pages visitors find useful.
  • Finding and correcting technical problems.
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.

Links and Advertising

Links lead to Polk County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy notice governs its collection and use of data.

Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs on their systems, not on this site's own record systems.

Who May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited data may reach search partners handling a submitted query, analytics providers, advertising networks, and law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Security Is Best Effort

Standard security practices are used to protect information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and this site cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.

Adults Only

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, contact us to request its deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Rights vary by location and applicable law. A person may ask for a copy of data held about them, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where available, or opt out of certain processing. Send a request through the Contacts page. Polk County government records remain governed by Georgia's Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 et seq., and requests concerning those records belong with the agency custodian.

This privacy notice may be revised. An update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
